The following images were taken in Rochester, N.Y., after the surge of protests that resulted in body cam footage being released documenting the arrest of Daniel Prude, a 41 year old Black man. Prude was shown in the video footage in a mental health crisis, while having a spit hood placed over his face and forced into the ground. The footage dated back to March 23, 2020, two months prior to the murder of George Floyd, but the footage was not released until five months later in September, 2020. The following images are part of a growing body of work following the protests and community actions taken as a result of Daniel Prude’s death while in custody of the Rochester Police Department.
